Introducing the Garden {68}

Dear Miss Dinah,

The stroller made it back this morning. How did it find its way home? Thank you so much, Aunt Lydia for stopping to pick it up on your drive!

The garden! And you can see the gardeners in the shadows...

A French melon... (not the blue box, but the two little leaves just to the right of it)

A dandelion. We thought we might keep this one for tea and greens, but alas, it did not make the cut and got chopped later today.

Pile of weeds for composting...and those shadow gardeners again :)

I think this one's a pumpkin...(the two little leaves just below the board)

Hole for composting...
Oh, and there is another melon (Sherlyn variety) not pictured.

Another pumpkin?

Another hole for composting...(Leslie says this one needs to get bigger)

In the box is thyme, to the right of it is oregano and marigold, which you probably can't tell from weeds. Anyone know how to do that cool thing where you draw or put type on your photos?

Trying to get the garden behind us.

It may look like weeds now...

And, well, a lot of it is.
But you can see one compost hole behind your neck here.

And you can't see much of anything here except the side of our lovely little home.

You and Gampa this morning.
In the olden days, they would have called this "overexposed."
Now we call it a powerful flash.

We enjoyed dinner with Gampa, and Aunt Leslie, Cousin Beverly, Cousin Mikey, and 2 of Mikey's boys. Mikey made a delicious gumbo (which you liked very much), and we brought pies for dessert.

I love you,

Growing Like a (Pretty, Purple) Weed {67}

Dear Miss Dinah,

Aunt Leslie and Cousin Beverly arrived today which means good news in the garden! Leslie unloaded trays of goodies, and we even managed to get a few things in the ground. You took a hearty 2.5 hr nap during our planting adventure.

Leslie and Beverly are both keen listeners and have a way of pointing everything back to the Father, the One to whom they are always listening. They taught me to "water in" my plants just as the Father "waters" us with His Word.

Eddie and Daddy finished up work early tonight before Eddie left for the weekend. We all ate a good dinner together. You love Eddie being around and are always so friendly to him. You always smile and giggle when he's in the room. We joke that you have a crush on him :() )

Miss Dinah, you have now been 'out here' about as long as you were 'in there.' So what do you think so far?

I love you.

Snug As A Bug {66}

Dear Miss Dinah,

Still coughing, sneezing, and runny nose today...

But still you tried to stay upbeat you sweet, sweet little thing.

Praise Him under open skies...

Everything breathing praise to God...

Snug as a piglet, I mean, bug.

I love you.

Go Into All The World, Even Wal Mart {65}

Dear Miss Dinah,

Today we went to dance class -- except you didn't go! You played hookey with Guinney and ran some errands, and played at the park.

After, we swung by the old Wal Mart to get the essentials -- diaper wipes, baby toothbrush, chocolate :)  Oh, and Guinney picked up a pretty little Spring dress for you.

You were so tired you slept all the way home.

You don't seem to be feeling well today. Sneezing a lot. Mamma and Daddy prayed over you tonight. Thank God that He is the healer!

When I was falling in love with your Daddy, I had a dream. I will tell you the rest of the dream later, but at the end, Daddy said that we must 'go into the world and preach the gospel to all.' These are actually the words of Jesus:

And (Jesus) said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe. In my name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues, they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.” (Mark 16:15-18)

Wow. That's a lot of pretty serious stuff. Did you even realize we were created for such great things? Believe it! We were created for such great things.

How much is that baby?
Priceless!
You made friends with the ladies behind us in the checkout.
And the cashier, too.
I love you.

Baby, I Need To Tell You Somethin {64}

Dear Miss Dinah,

Baby, I need to tell you somethin...I don't got no belly button.

Ok, of course I do.

Daddy is cooking dinner, and he just sang these words from the kitchen.
We watched it this morning and have been singing this all day.

We saw Dr. Seuss's, The Lorax, this afternoon. The movie was in 3D, but you weren't too into the glasses (except for chewing on them). But you sat and watched it like a champion. You even laughed at some silly parts. The first movie you sat through in it's entirety! Mamma and Daddy are so proud :)

Daddy zoooooming you up and down the halls in the movie theater. Hilarious. And fast.

And hanging out with Guinney at Staples.

 A few hairs got cut this morning during breakfast.

"Are you sure about this, Mamma?"

Stylin!

That looks much better after flipping upside down a few times.

You act as if you just consumed some of the mass quantities of sugar we acquired from Sam's. Apparently, it was treat day!

For you, it's a natural high.

I love love love you.
