I have a burr in my boot, so let's just get serious here for a little bit.
Let's set the record straight.
God is who He says that He is.
He's not what we think up in our imagination to suit our needs and fit our lifestyle.
He's not who anyone else says He is,
Even your mamma and daddy - if what we say is different from what God says in His word.
"...let God be found true, though every man be found a liar, as it is written,
“THAT YOU MAY BE JUSTIFIED IN YOUR WORDS,
AND PREVAIL WHEN YOU ARE JUDGED.”" (Romans 3)
My child, may you never be tricked into thinking that your mamma is 'religious,' because she quotes scripture. I have to constantly remind myself who God really is, what He has really said, and what is true about him.
HE IS UNCHANGING.
Some say, "Times change."
Duh. Of course they do.
Of course we have machines, gadgets, foods, and technologies that didn't exist 1,000, 100, 10, even 1 year ago. That's obvious.
Even we change throughout our life. We grow up and we see things in a new light all the time.
But it's dangerous to believe that God has changed. He and His Word are forever unchanging. They have never changed. And never will.
On another note, my Daddy was here this morning, passing through on his way home from the Grand Canyon! He stayed long enough to enjoy waffles and time with you, before driving the last leg of his trip. He is an adventurer, like you.
